Update February 1, 2011

I woke up this morning to Jean-Pierre, our son, knocking on my door to wish me a Happy Birthday!  From there, everywhere I turned was another birthday greeting.  The young ladies worked together to make a beautiful coconut birthday cake.  I am so grateful to God that He keeps me young and strong!

Today, we said goodbye to Regina, our Austrian friend who has been here for two months.  For the past few days, she has been dreading the day when she would leave for Europe.  Let me share with you what she said today:

I don’t want to leave!  I really, really, really don’t want to leave!!!  I can’t believe 2 months are over already!  2 months in Haiti and I have found friends I will treasure forever, a church full of amazing people and a spiritual incubator.

After such a short time, the people have become family and this place has become home.

Now I am sad to be leaving but eager to return!

Mwen renmen Ayiti!!  (I love Haiti!!!)

God has always sent wonderful people to plug in with us here, but it seems He is now selecting those who may have a future with us as we expand.  I think everyone who comes to Haiti falls in love with the people.  I know it’s true of us!

P.S. Please continue to pray for us as political pressures mount.  There are rumors that former President Aristide is trying to return.  That’s not good!
