Update February 2, 2011

God is blessing our people!  For several years, I have preached to them ‘It is time for Haitians to go to the nations!’ Now we are seeing this is the time!

Immediately after the earthquake, medical teams began to come to us that we didn’t even know!  Several teams came from Singapore.  Leading those teams were people from City Harvest Church (more than 34,000 members).  As we got to know them, one of the founding pastors, Kenneth Sim, approached us with an offer to send three Haitians to their 6-month School of Theology March-August, 2011.  He asked that we send faithful people who would return to Haiti and share with this nation what they had learned.

These three students would be given a full-scholarship, plus housing, food and essentials and airfare to Singapore too!  (We will be responsible for their return-airfare.)  What a blessing!  I don’t believe there have ever been Haitians in Singapore!

I am happy to share with you that Olrich Corriolan, our right-hand man for 18 years has been chosen to attend this wonderful school.  Along with him, Rodolpho and Sherly Merentie, husband and wife, now serving in Church of Light in Carrefour, will represent us at City Harvest’s School of Theology.

While there, they will have opportunities to take in many other things in ministry – drama, worship, sound and lights and hopefully get involved in a cell group.  This church is on the cutting-edge in ministry and we are so excited they can be a part of what God is doing there!

We know this is just the beginning of seeing opportunities come to our faithful people.  Needless to say, we are really excited!  I announced it to our church on Sunday and, to my surprise, instead of being jealous, we saw our people were happy for them!

Many other opportunities are opening up regularly for blessings to overtake our people who have remained strong in spite of catastrophic situations in their lives.  They have remained faithful and understand that God keeps the records…

Tonight, Terry preached from 2 Timothy and ended with chapter 2, verse 11-13:  ‘For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him.  If we endure, we shall also reign with Him.  If we deny Him, He also will deny us.  If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.’

The rewards of faithfulness are great…  May we all be found faithful!
