Update February 25, 2010

Many of you saw Terry on CNN last night being interviewed by Soledad O’Brien on Anderson Cooper, AC360.  They were talking with those trying to get donated supplies released to their missions.  The government was once again trying to charge taxes on shipments!  Terry had been fighting all day for our tents.   It was good exposure and, by the end of the day, we had over 200 tents and tarps released with NO TAX!  Everything is a fight, but in the end, we win!  God promises to uphold us with His victorious right hand!

The U.S. Marines are leaving tomorrow.  We are sad to see them go! They have been such a blessing to us in Carrefour!  Terry will go early in the morning to say goodbye and thank them for their efforts of our behalf.  He stopped at the base today; how they love to see him and our staff!  We will miss them and pray they will not forget Haiti!

After saying goodbye to the Marines, we must get the trucks out! Pray! The dump truck should be in. Pray that the stuff packed inside is still there when we arrive!  With paperwork in hand, we believe for favor to release them easily and cheaply!  Ultimately, it is in the hands of those in charge.  Pray for favor at the port!  We don’t have time to waste.  We must be back for Prayer Meeting at 5:30.

The medical team left today, with one doctor remaining. He saw 180 patients!  Tomorrow, 5 more doctors and nurses will arrive; then on Sunday and Monday, another 2 will join them.  It is such a joy to us to see these medical teams keep coming our way!  What a blessing they have been to the Haitians in our area.

We set up some tents today in Leogane.  These are fine quality tents, with rubberized floors and bottom edges.  They have a canopy and windows.  You can zip them up and open the windows!  They are made to sleep 4-6; Terry said they could sleep 8!  Wonderful!  When you see our blue tent cities, you can thank the people at CityCare!  We are SO blessed our people will be protected!  Hopefully, we will have photos soon

More good news:  This morning, we received $10,000 from a ministry in Switzerland for the mountain property!  The world is so small… a long distance away, but the same heart for the Haitian people.  God is good!  We now have a balance remaining of $89,000 to be able to buy the mountain land.  If you are giving for this property, please mark your gift “Land” and that is exactly where it will go.  Let’s do our best to finish this up before Terry leaves for the States on Sunday!  Thanks so much for being on our team!

Continuing on with Isaiah 58:10-12…

If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul,

Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.

The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

Those from among you shall build the old waste places;

You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and

You shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In

We, together, are here for such a time as this, to reach out to those who are hungry and in despair, to encourage, to strengthen, to help raise up the foundations and to instruct this generation in the purposes of God, so they can see His Plan come to pass!  We, in turn, are the ones to reap the benefits of God Himself in our lives! This is His promise.

Cary
