Update February 28, 2010

This morning, Terry preached, “As it was in the days of Noah, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be… They were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Matthew 24:37-39)

“…The Bible talks about earthquakes in many places… Before the earthquake, you were sitting outside your door, playing dominos, drinking alcohol, sleeping around with women, with no thought of your future, no thought of your destiny.  Now the earthquake shook you to see what life is really all about…and you now see that you need to make your heart right with God.

“It’s not about being religious. It’s not about being a ‘good’ person.  It’s not about how you look, what you do or what to wear; it’s about your heart…  It’s about a personal relationship with a living God, a loving Father!    It’s about living in His kingdom and realizing His plan for you.”

And he went on to say… “Many of you never had a Father, so you don’t even understand a Father’s love.  Only the Holy Spirit can teach you what a Father is.  It’s time to learn the ways of the Kingdom!  It’s time for a new relationship, a new mentality, a new destiny.”

“…As it was in the days of Noah…  they all mocked Noah as he was building the ark, calling him a fool who thought he had heard from God. When the floods came, they were knocking on the door, but it was already closed; it was too late!  They died in their sins.  Will you die in your sins?  You must ‘listen’ to what is going on in the world.  You must ‘see’ what is happening.  You must separate yourselves from bad friends and bad influences.  You must learn what God has planned for you!”

When Pastor Terry gave an invitation to give their hearts to Jesus Christ and ‘let Him change you from the inside’, Jean Claude, our mechanic of many years, was the first one to the altar!  (His brother was born again last year, and changed dramatically!  Jean Claude observed that his brother’s decision was real!)  Today, he said the earthquake was ‘just for him to get right with God’ and he did!!!

Thirty people were saved this morning.  Over 400 were set free from fear and stress.  Then Pastor Terry prayed for about 150 children, that they would know and follow God’s purpose for their lives.  What a great service!

Continue to pray for the Haitians.  This earthquake really has affected them, and they are running to God these days!  Pray for genuine commitmentsPray for others to get right with God before it is too late!

After the service, Terry, JP and Olrich left for the Dominican Republic, where they will spend the night, then fly to Orlando tomorrow. (The airfares are ridiculously high to Port-au-Prince, so it makes more sense to drive to the DR, leave the van with a trusted ministry there and fly round-trip to Orlando.)  They will be home for about four days for important meetings, then return to the DR on Saturday and drive into Haiti.

I am going back with them!  I can’t wait to see everyone again!  I know work is waiting for me, too!  (You must understand that, when Terry and I travel, the work on the opposite end piles up!)  I am eager to spend time with our people, hear their stories of escape, as well as to see their growth since the earthquake!

For the coming days, we need your prayers to release the trucksPray we can finish the wall around our church property so we can erect the large tent when it comes off the truck.  Pray for money for the mountain propertyWe only need $88,000!  Pray for hassle-free paperwork for the land. We are so blessed to have members of our church, like Fito, help us find what we need.  Our members are working all directions for us.  We cannot do it alone

For us, we need wisdom, health, strength and life to do what is set before us!  It’s a huge undertaking!  I know God says He will never put us through more than we can handle and, many times I say, “God, You must think we can handle more than we think we can!”  His vision is BIG!

Thank you so much for your constant prayers, your help on vital issues, and your financial support, which is keeping us going…  Don’t stop now!

Cary
