Update June 10, 2010

I awoke early this morning and spent some time in our back yard with a cup of coffee and my Bible.  I read Psalm 111:6 where we learn “He has declared to His people the power of His works, in giving them the heritage of the nations.”  When we began in ministry, God said to us “Ask of Me and I will give you the heathen for your inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.”  We began to ask!  We are now beginning to possess our inheritance as He promised 30 years ago.  Our ‘first love’ is Haiti, but we know we will step foot on every continent and claim each one for Him!  We still have a lot of traveling to do…  May we be found faithful!  That is our daily prayer.

In Psalm 113:3-9, He tells us that “From the rising of the sun to its going down the Lord’s name is to be praised.  The Lord is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens.  Who is like the Lord our God, Who dwells on high, Who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in the heavens and the earth?  He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy out of the ash heap, that He may seat him with princes – With princes of His people.  He grants the barren woman a home, like a joyful mother of children.  Praise the Lord!  It sounds like what He has been doing with us and our people, doesn’t it?

Today was another day of connections with other ministries at work in Haiti.  We sent 36 of our leaders to a wonderful seminar with Doug Stringer of Somebody Cares, a sought-after speaker and author of several books.  We really have the same spirit!  Our people were so amazed to hear someone else confirm what Pastor Terry often preaches, like walking in holiness, hungering and thirsting after righteousness, social justice, compassion, recognizing the real problem, dealing with it and moving forward in victory.  It was a good time!  Mr. Stringer will be preaching in our church on Sunday morning.  We are blessed!

We will try tomorrow to get the paperwork moving forward on the land.  A member of the Notary’s family died, so he was unable to meet with us.  The Customs office tells us that our vehicles and other items have been cleared, but must be entered in the database and all computers are down in the customs offices throughout Haiti, so we must wait!  Please continue to pray!

Even though things often take longer than we would like, we continue to praise Him for all the miraculous things He has done on our behalf… It’s only begun!  We just know it!
