Update November 5, 2010

Thank you so much for your prayers!  The hurricane is moving its way out of Haiti as I write.  In our area, we got rain, but not so much wind with it.

All afternoon, people were calling to see if we would have prayer meeting tonight and we said, ‘Yes, we will be there!  If you can get there, come…the rain will stop so we can have church!’  At 4:00, the rain stopped and at 5:30 we saw 115 people come to meet with God.  Wow!  What a service we had, AGAIN!  Nothing stops our people from worshipping Him!  Then, we had a tremendous prayer meeting!  As soon as everyone was back home, the rain began again!  God is good!

In Leogane, there has been much flooding, up to 5’ of water!  This is an area that has historically suffered from flashfloods and mudslides from tropical storms.  Often, the mudslides are more dangerous than the hurricane winds themselves.

Another area always affected is GonaivesPray for Gonaives now!  They have lost many lives in past hurricanes.  We know there have been a few reported deaths in the countryside, a result of this storm, but at this time, we have experienced none!    God is our Protector, our Strong Tower, and we know it!

Continue to pray for Haiti that men’s hearts would turn to God, not only in danger, but every day as a way of life.  Only He can give them life and sustain them in times of trouble.  If only they had a revelation of this…

I can say with the psalmist,  ‘It is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your  works.’  (Ps. 73:28)
