Update May 4, 2010

We returned from Haiti last night for a few days of meetings.  We are constantly finding “pieces to the puzzle” to help rebuild Haiti.  Today, we met with those who can help with various aspects of ministry, housing, shipping, and architectural needs.   It really is a joy to see God’s hand so evident in rebuilding!  Even though these meetings are vital, they are also exhausting!  Please continue to pray for us for strength and wisdom in dealing with so much information and potential partnering.

On Thursday morning before breakfast, a young man everyone called ‘Black’ was riding his motorcycle when he was hit by a car and thrown to the ground; another car behind him ran over him and instantly killed him.  Preparations are now being made for his funeral.  Black gave his life to Jesus after the earthquake and had been in attending the New Converts Class regularly, and had been growing so fast.  He showed such potential to lead others!  It is always a shock to have something like this happen, but we trust God who sees the whole picture!  We rejoice that today Black is in heaven!

There are still tremors quite often.  Yesterday, there was a good-sized aftershock!    When these happen, everyone panics and runs to the street, reliving the initial earthquake!  Please continue to pray for our people.  It’s not easy for them to stay in peace…

The kingdom of God is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.  (Romans 14:17)
